In Japan, people are considered colder and more reserved than Americans. They expect you to stand at a further distance when speaking to one another, which might then allude to their tradition of bowing. They bow when they greet eachother or even when apologizing or thanking someone. The deeper the bow the more respect that is shown, so when conductimg business expect to be bowing deeply.

Collectivism( Japan) v.s. Individualism (USA)In Japan, They value collectivisim, which stresses the importance of community. Common values in the work place are cooperation, collaboration, and interdependence.

Since Japan's land mass consists mainly of islands alot of seafood options will be present. You will normally be getting smaller quantities, but more varieties of food such as seasonal vegetables mainly served with rice.

The Japanese value perfectionism and will make slower decision making because of it. They are very relationship oriented. They wanna know and trust you before doing business with you.
