Brief History

Since I was about 3 years old I've been playing piano, and I've been classically trained ever since. I also play piano in jazz band, and play clarinet in concert and marching band. I participate in indoor color guard during the winter, and I currently work at Brooks Brothers. I've lived in Douglassville for my entire life, and I have one younger sister. I have a goldendoodle named Copper and a hermit crab names Löffel.

Favorite stories

Okay for Now - Gary D. Schmidt

Caraval - Stephanie Garber

"Caraval" by Stephanie Garber is one of my favorite books that I've ever read. I really enjoy it because of the set up and concept more than the actual characters. It is set in a "game" that an anonymous person creates. This game can be played or spectated, but everything in the game seems so real that people could eventually lose their minds. I really like books that have psychological torture/horror, and even though this book isn't necessarily scary, I still enjoyed it a lot.

Another book I could call my favorite is "Okay for Now" by Gary D. Schmidt. Schmidt is more known for writing "The Wednesday Wars," and the protagonist of this book was actually mentioned in the Wednesday Wars, but this is book has more mature concepts and scenarios in it. It's my favorite comfort book, because the main character should have a lot of immaturity since he's only a teenager, and doesn't think in perfect ideas, but he's forced to grow up a lot quicker than he should have.

self reflection

Looking back on other English classes, I've always done pretty well. I've always taken Honors English, and I feel like I'm the strongest in writing and grammar. I've practiced a lot of essay writing, and I've done a lot of research as well as analysis centered writing. The most difficult things in English for me are usually concluding my writing and analysis of historical texts. I hope to get better at the historical analysis specifically, because I'm taking this course as well as AP US History this school year. Grammar usually comes easy to me, and I believe that I belong in this level of English because I'm strong in expressing ideas through writing and reading/comprehension.

After High School

My career goal is to become a general or pediatric surgeon. After I graduate high school, I plan on either attending a university for my undergraduate or attending a military academy. After I graduate, I plan on going to medical school and then starting residency at a reputable hospital. I'm debating on going into the military so that medical school is paid for, but I'm not sure that it's the ideal option for me because I'm not a very athletic person. Regardless of where I go for undergraduate, I'd still love to become a surgeon.
