WHAT IS
CONICAL PERSPECTIVE

It is a graphic representation system based on the
projection of a three dimensional body on a plane by
projecting lines that pass through a point place from
which the observer is supposed to look.

in other words...
Conical perspective is a graphic trick to make the eye believe that what it is seeing on a flat 2 dimensional 3-dimensional support like paper is in a 3 dimensional space as if we were seeing reality.

HISTORY OF CONICAL
PERSPECTIVE
It is a representation system developed in the Renaissance. From the Renaissance until the birth of photography, conic perspective was the only way to represent spaces realistically.

CONICAL PERSPECTIVE’S ELEMENTS

Certainly many painters who do not use perspective have also been the object of praise; however, they were praised with faulty judgement by men with no knowledge of the value of this art.

1 POINT PERSPECTIVE

STEP 1
Draw the horizon line in the middle of your paper or drawing notebook (more or less) using a ruler.

STEP 2
Mark a vanishing point on the horizon line. This will be the point from which converging lines will come out in any direction you want.

STEP 3
Draw squares or rectangles at different positions and then draw the convergent lines from each of the rectangles’ corner to the vanishing point.

STEP 4
Almost finished! Just draw the back part of your shape, using the same convergent lines as your front shape. Mark the outer lines of your 3d shape.
