Uses

OF PRESENT SIMPLE AND CONTINUOUS

Present Simple Uses

• When an action is happening right now, or when it happens regularly.
• Present simple, however, talks about events that are happening right now or will happen in the future.
• Things that happen regularly
• Facts

Present Continuous Uses

• To talk about events which are in progress at the moment of speaking.
• To talk about temporary states which are true around the moment of speaking.
• To describe actions which are repeated or regular, but which we believe to be temporary.
• Something that is happening now or around now.
• Temorary situations.
• Future plans.

OF PRESENT SIMPLE AND CONTINUOUS

I walk to school with a friend every day.

My sister does´t go to the sports club very often.

PRESENT SIMPLE

We live near my grandparents.

The weather doesn´t get very cold here.

I´m helping my dad in his office this week. (=I don´t help him every week.)

We´re doing our homework. (= We´re in the middle of it now) .

PRESENT CONTINUOUS

They´re playing table tennis after schoo. (=They plan to play table tennis.)
