Thank you so much
I was born in Newry, in the UK, before embarking on my teaching career I spent 20 years working as a scientist in pharmaceuticals. I have received my teaching license and have completed a Master’s in Education from the University of Nottingham. In the classroom my philosophy of teaching is one where I want the students to find their own voices, to gain and build confidence when talking and sharing their ideas and thoughts with their peers and others. I want the students to feel relaxed, happy, and enjoy in the lessons. I want them to not only understand but to show understanding, to critically think about their learning, and voice their opinion. I love reading, running, and spending time doing puzzles. When it comes to food, I really enjoy Chinese cuisine, my favorite is Hot Pot, the spicier the better.
I am from South Africa, I grew up in the big city of Johannesburg. I obtained my teaching degree and license there, I have been teaching for 11 years. I have taught in the UAE and have been teaching in China for 6 years now. In my free time, I love to explore and find new experiences, I also love to eat good food. I would like us to create a fun, kind, and stimulating environment in 2A this year. I am so excited to join the CCC class and am looking forward to being able to be a part of your children's amazing learning journey.

I began my teaching career in 2017 in Seoul, South Korea. I moved to China in 2019, and have been teaching here ever since. I am delighted to be a teacher at SMIC, and I’m very excited to start the new school year! I’m looking forward to helping students reach their full potential. I will make it my goal to create a fun, inclusive classroom. One where growth and classroom engagement is highly encouraged. It’s my pleasure to be on this journey with you!
I was born in Cleveland, Ohio USA. I have worked in China in Education since 2015. My wife is from Shandong Province. I have a 4 ½ year old daughter named Audrey. I have a Bachelor’s in Arts and Sciences from Dallas Baptist University in Dallas, Texas. In the classroom my philosophy of teaching is a student-centered approach as they are the stars of the classroom learning environment. I have high expectations for myself and my students. That means I model and encourage great character and a high work ethic. I encourage risk-taking and celebrate failures as opportunities to grow. There are different learning spaces and excitement going on in my classroom and students learn individually, in pairs, and groups. I enjoy swimming, running, cycling, calisthenics, weigh training, and playing video games. Most importantly, I love spending time with my family like going on picnics in the park and other family activities.
