Narrative nonfiction, or literary nonfiction, is nonfiction text that uses a storytelling structure to present information about a topic, such as a real person or event. It’s different than expository text, which simply presents the facts.
Since the facts are written in a narrative format with characters, a setting, a plot, etc., it can be a more engaging and memorable way for people to learn about & experience the world.

The central message; it can be a lesson or moral.

The use of symbols to represent ideas or qualities.
Symbols have positive or negative connotations. Ex. Fire (positive) = knowledge, inspiration. Fire (negative) = destruction, death

Brings our writing to life, and helps the reader to feel like they are a part of the experience. Created using sensory language/words that link readers to the five senses: touch, sight, sound, smell, and taste.
