WHAT IS IT ?

« dystopia » is the opposite of « utopia ». It is an imagined place or state in which everything is unpleasant or bad, typically a totalitarian or environmentally degraded one, often charcterized by elements of great hardship, fear and injustice.

The original spelling of "dystopia", first appeared in 1747. It comes from Ancient Greek : "dys" = bad, imperfect, hard and "topos" = place, religion, space.

WHAT FOR ?

A dystopian narrative shows us a nightmarish image of what might happen to the world in the near future.It aims at warning us against the dangers of a contemporary ideology or habit.
