Sunday Roast The Sunday roast is still traditionally eaten every Sunday in many English households. It includes roast potatoes accompanying a roasted joint of meat such as beef, lamb, pork, duck or chicken and assorted other vegetables, themselves generally boiled and served with a gravy or roasted with the meat in its juices, which are then used as or added to the gravy
Lancashire Hotpot One of the most famous dishes from northwest England, Lancashire hotpot is a traditional dish made from lamb or mutton and onion, topped with sliced potatoes. It is then left to bake in the oven all day in a heavy pot and on a low heat. The perfect meal for a wet winter's day
gastronomy
It is often celebrated in public town squares, local parks and in the family home, meaning everyone can enjoy it. There's plenty of dressing up too as well as a singing and dancing, and children are encouraged to ask for pancakes and money, a lot like trick or treating at Halloween.

TRADITIONS
On November 5 this year people across the UK will light bonfires, let off fireworks, and burn effigies of a man named Guy Fawkes. The reason we do this is because it's the anniversary of the Gunpowder Plot (1605); a failed attempt to blow up the Houses of Parliament in London by a group of dissident Catholics.

KELPIES
LEGEND
Kelpies are said to inhabit almost every single Scottish lake in the land - and some say that Nessie is the most famous of their kind. They hold shape-shifting powers, but in their everyday form are said to be similar to a horse. But the legend is rumoured to have been borne in order to keep children away from the edge of large bodies of water - they were told kelpies would drag them in and eat them!
Dress in the United Kingdom varies according to region and occasion. - Scottish costume: The Scottish kilt is a traditional pleated kilt worn in Scotland and on special occasions throughout the United Kingdom. - Welsh costume: In Wales, there is no specific national costume for men. - Welsh hat**: The tall black hat, known as a "Welsh hat", is a distinctive part of traditional costume. –England: white shirt, pants or skirts on occasion, elements such as a vest or top hat are added for formal events. BEAVER
Otter are carnivorous mammals in the subfamily Lutrinae. The 13 extant otter species are all semiaquatic, aquatic, or marine, with diets based on fish and invertebrates. Lutrinae is a branch of the Mustelidae family, which also includes weasels, badgers, mink, and wolverines, among other animals.
The Eurasian beaver is native to Britain and used to be widespread in England, Wales and Scotland, but was never known from Ireland. They became extinct in the 16th century, mainly because of hunting for their fur, meat and 'castoreum', a secretion used in perfumes, food and medicine.
