Students will choose either to write an argument in a letter form or in an infographic
Students will research the topic or their choice
Rough draft is due on 10/18, and the final assignment will be due on 10/28

You will choose a topic and write a letter to someone in support or against this topic.
You must have an intro, middle, counter argument, and conclusion
You must include 1-2 pieces of direct evidence (quotes) from research
You will use formal letter structure (provided)
Complete the plan of action by 10/18

- You can research an issue local to your community (local newspaper, township council, governer's office)
- You can choose a national topic (affecting the country)
- Book banning, school shootings, healthcare issues, art, music, physical eduation in schools, climate change issues, protests, and more
- (National news syndicates - to get you started)
- Ask yourself: What do I care about? What are my passions? What would I like to see changed? What would I like to see kept in place?What makes me angry when I see it in the news, and I want to do something about it?
- If you don't have any ideas, please reach out to me - I can provide you with a list of topics as a jumping off point.
