Survey Goals

The main goal of the survey was to gather preferences with regards to:

machines / screen sizes

operating systems

browsers

The application support team were asked to provide honest feedback. The entire team (with the exception of the HoD) participated in the survey which was conducted in a non-anonymous way.

Research &Methodology

The survey contained 13 questions which were a mix of open-ended and multiple choice questions.

Questions

1 week was given to participants to complete the survey, adding an additional week for its analysis.

Time?

The survey goal is to gather team members preferences when it comes to a specific machine, browser, and operating system.

why?

Current Laptop

Fairly even split between monitor sizes with 12 using 13 inch screens and 13 using 15 inch screens.

• 13 inch screen users - 12:

Amy, Begona, Christian, Christopher, Eden, Gerard, Leah, Lisa, Martin, Molly, Supun and Szandra.

• 15 inch screen users - 13:

Adelina, Alfredo, Alvin, Amit, Catherine, Cedric, Chelsie, Damian, Ennia, Isaac, Jalil, James, and Veronika.

64% are using 2 or 3 browsers, however over one third are using just one.

Conclusions

Machine Dell is the most popular choice (44%) with Apple scoring 36% Large screen size is clearly preferred by most (76%) Browsers Google Chrome (100%) and Firefox (52%) are the two most popular browser choices currently being used. Operating Systems The majority of respondants indicated that they felt having a computer capable of switching OS would be helpful (84% scored 3 or above).
