Welcome to the 2023-2024 School Year

Mrs. Brown's Science Class

A little about me:

Take a look at the topics we will cover this year!

  • This is my 3rd full year at CCA- I also taught a 1/2 year in spring of 2019-Social Studies and a 1/2 year in spring of 2021- in Science! So, I guess this would really be my 4th year total! :)
  • I am married and have a 2 year old son. My husband's name is Matt and my son's name is Keegan
  • My favorite unit in science is our Aquatic Ecosystems- especially our ocean topic and pollution topic! I also love our Unit on Weather!

The Basics

  • EDIO CALENDAR- Each school day you will have a science assignment on your Edio Calendar to complete for the day.
  • TYPES OF CLASSES
    • GUIDED LESSONS-
      • You may attend class live and participate in ALL of the activities with us that day- This includes items like- being logged into the peardeck or nearpod and completing ALL of the activities in them, padlets, completing zoom polls, participating in breakout rooms, any other activities, responding in chat, responding using your microphone, using your web camera if you choose to do so. If you do the above you may normally submit that day's lesson blank- There are some days I may ask you to complete a question or two in there for either a project or to check for understanding- I will let you know when this happens.
      • If you choose not to attend class on guided lesson days you MUST complete ALL of the questions in Edio completely! Please do not answer questions with random letters, periods, or one word responses- these lessons will be reset if you do so. I will reset them once- after that it will be a 0. You may reach out to me to have it reset again or to schedule a meeting to go over it together.
    • LIVE CLASS- Thursdays-
      • There is no lesson in Edio to complete- most, Thursday’s I will include a question for you to answer though based on what we did that day in class to check for understanding or for you to ask any questions that you might have.
      • Please try to attend these live but you may also watch the recording to earn credit as well. Most times, depending on the activity- I will usually attach what we are doing in class to Edio that way you can complete it as well if you do not attend it live.
