Special Education Cases Through History

The first principle - Board of education of Hendrick Hudson Central School district vs Rowley. This case illustrates the IEP and how the importance of insuring that each student needs are met. The student has a hearing disability and they placed her in classes that didnt meet her need so this wouldnt be a individualized educational program.

The second Principle case- The Edward V. Dogulas cases emphasized how important FAPE is when they highlighted that students knowledge has to be calculated correctly in order to ensure maximum progress. 2nd case- Board of education of Hendrick Hudson Central school district case also hilights that the students must have the oppurtunity fir appropriate education that meets their needs

Case 2-Principle 1 Endrew F v. Douglas county this illustrate the IEP as well because the school system was suppose to offer students more oppurtunities for progress.

The third principle cases- Daniel RR v Board Of education - This case hilighted the importance of less restricitve classroom. Students with disabilities should be placed in inclusion classroom that fits their needs 2nd case - Schaffer V West - This case hilighted the importance of parents and teachers as well as ensuring that the students are placed in a less restrictive classroom.

  • The fourth principle

This case hilights that the student can be placed in inclusion classes if the proper evaluation has been taken towards the student

Special Education Cases Through History

  • The sixth Principle-
1st case- Arlington Board of Education V Murphy- This case illustrated the crucialness of procedural safeguards as well as the importance of timelines and filing complaints. 2nd case- Honig V Doe- This case highlights the importance of process to hearing of student with liabilities and behavior.
  • The fifth principle -
