How to Use My Calculator
How to sketch a graph?
Lets see how to solve a system of linear equations in our calculator. Click here:
Intercepts
How to solve a second degree equation?
I didn´t use any other site, so there are no references
How to find the intercepts?
To find the intercepts, when we graph the equation, we need to press "Shift" and "F1" and a cross that we can move will appear. We need to press "F5", then "F1" and move it with the grey pad to the point we want to the left or right, that is the x-intercept (where the graph passes through the horizontal line). In this case (-6,0), (1,0). For the Y-intercept, press again "F5" and then "F4", then it gives you the result (where the graph passes through the vertical line). In this case: (0,-6).
Second degree eq.
The equation is 4x^{2}-2x-4=0. To solve this, we are going to repeat some steps of the first point. we need to go to the menu, then to the option that says "EQUA", press "EXE", nut now, we are going to press on "F2" button for the Polynomial, then choose the degree, in this case is second degree so we are going to click the "F2" button, then replace the value of the equation in the chart; a=4, b=-2, c= -4, then press "EXE". This give us the result for x1 and x2 by moving with the grey pad again. x1: 1.2807 or 1+√17/4, x2: -0.78 or 1-√17/4.
System of Linear Eq.
Lets solve this one: x-6y=27 7x-3y=9 To solve this, we need to turn on our calculator with the blue button (AC/on). Then go to the "Menu" button and click it. Now we have 2 options; press the button "ALPHA" and then the button "X,0,T" or to move with the big grey pad on the right to the option that say "EQUA". There we have many options, but for this problem we need to click on the "F1" button for Simultaneous. Now the number of equations that in this case are 2, so we press again the "F1" button. Now we need to put the value of the equations with the next formula: ax+by=c. So the first one would be: a=1, b=-6, c=27 and the same with the other. When we have the values in there, we need to press the "EXE" button and it give us the value of x and y only by moving up and down with the grey pad. x=-9/13 or -0.692, y=-60/13 or -4.615.
Graphics.
We need to sketch the following graphic: x2+5x-6. First, we need to go to the menu with the "menu" button. Press the "5" button or move to the "GRAPH" option in the menu. Put the equation on the "Y1" option like it is: "ALPHA" and "+", the "x2" button, "+", "5", "ALPHA" and "+", "-", "6". Click on the "EXE" button. Now we need to configure the scale on the y-axis from -20 to 20 and for the x-axis from -10 to 10. We are going to click on the "F3" button and a menu will appear, we need to change the values by selecting each option and then just writting the new value and pressing "EXE" when we want to change to the next one. When we finish, press "EXE" to go to the graphic. Intercepts on the next point...
