Example 1

In a restaurant

One time I went to a restaurant in Chicago, and I didn't know how to order my burger without pickles. I asked, and someone told me which words use, so I did it and was able to learn for the next time.

Example 2

To practice my english

"I don't like that when I want to practice my English and I speak with someone who is supposed to know, they answer me back in Spanish and not in English."

This experience highlights the cultural aspect of adapting to new situations while traveling. In this case, I encountered a language barrier and a specific food preference difference (not wanting pickles on the burger). The willingness to ask for help and learn how to solve the situation. This experience reflects the process of learning and adapting in a foreign cultural context.

This experience shows that language and culture are connected. Wanting to practice my English is a way of trying to understand a different culture, but when the other person responds in Spanish, it might be because they're more comfortable with their own language. This tells us that the way we use language can show how we see our culture and other cultures around us.
