Nice job!!!
This is called the "carrot" button. This allows us to write exponents, so it will be very useful to us this year.
Using our 2nd button & then the carrot, you can perform any root (cubed root, fourth root, etc.). We won't use this in Algebra 1A much.
We probably won't use the PRB button, but the F◄►D function above it is helpful. This helps us convert back & forth between decimals & fractions. To use this, we need to use that 2nd button.
Whether starting with a fraction or a decimal, click
& finally press enter in the bottom right corner to convert.
then
This button clears what is currently on your screen. If you want to clear the history (anything you did previously), hold this button & the ON button at the same time. It will say "MEM CLEARED".
Often called the ABC button. This is how we write fractions in our calculator! Click this button in between each number.
EXAMPLE) To write 3 1/2, click 3 1 2
The 2nd function allows us to convert between a mixed number & an improper fraction. (This is great for slope - we like improper fractions!)
EXAMPLE) If you get a mixed number as your answer & want to make it an improper fraction, click then & enter to convert.
The button allows you to select the blue functions that you see above the black & white buttons.
This button allows us to square any number! Just type in the number, click & press enter.
We also use this with the 2nd button to find the squre root of numbers.
& then enter the number inside the root & press enter to evaluate.
