If you are facing a DUI charge, you may wonder what the consequences are for a first offense and how those penalties compare to a second offense. Here's a look at the differences between a first and second DUI charge: 1st DUI If convicted of a DUI for the first time, penalties may include the following:
- Less than 10 days in jail
- Minimum of $250
- Community service
- Additional charges and fees
- Installation of an interlocking ignition device
- A DUI misdemeanor charge on your record
- A minimum of 90 days in jail.
- A minimum of 120 days for a BAC between .15 and .199
- A minimum of 180 days in jail for a BAC above .2
