THERE IS/THERE ARE.
"There is” and “There are” se utilizan para expresar la existencia de algo en un espacio específico. En español se entienden como: "Ahí hay or ahí está" y se pueden usar también en forma negativa para formas plurales o singulares respectivamente.

Generalmente se usan los artículos A/AN/THE para frases en singular.El determinante ANY se usa en frases negativas y preguntas.
Se usa para objetos o personas en singular.

Para frases afirmativas a veces podemos usar el pronombre SOME o un número.
Se usa para objetos o personas en plural.

Some vs. any
Principales diferencias:
Este adjetivo se aplica cuando se quiere averiguar si hay o no hay algo en alguna parte. Solo se usa en preguntas y negaciones aunque puede hacer parte de palabras como anywhere, anything, etc. Su connotación en inglés siempre es positiva.
Este adjetivo puede usarse tanto para sustantivos no contables como para contables, siempre y cuando no se quiera dar la cantidad exacta de objetos que hay en algún lugar. Solo se usa en oraciones afirmativas.
