RTW completed and employee back to work

When Employee Returns

Ensure you follow these steps:

Who? Line Manager or informed colleague What? Complete a Return to work conversation and the revised RTW form with line manager on return to work When? As soon as possible - same day of return preferably How? By having a check in/ return to work conversation with manager

  • Make sure you read the RTW checklist before starting the meeting. This can help provide psychological safety for both you and your employee/colleague.

One Final Step…

Email HR with the correct info

Who? Line Manager What? Shares the return to work form with hr@simonscotland.org When? As soon as possible so HR can keep payroll data updated How? Email (please follow guidelines)

Guidelines:Emails should be titled consistently and not sent as part of another thread of conversation RTW Form - INITIALS of employee and the date 00/00/00eg. RTW Form JB 21/09/23

When Sickness is Ongoing

Communication is still key!

Who? Employee What? Keep your Service Leader updated on your progress When? For the duration of your absence How? Frequency and communication channel as agreed with your Service Leader

Employee Is Absent

Communication is key

Who? The employee is the responsible party What? Inform appropriate person (Line Manager) as per the absence reporting in Policy HR06 When? Morning of first day of absence - as per policy How? By telephone call - text, social media or email is not acceptable
