The place that hosted me for 9 months has been a small private high school in a town called Chester, in the State of New Hampshire, a state located in northeastern United States; an hour driving from Boston, MA, and five hours driving from New York, NY.

The campus

The campus provides two distinct dormitories: one for the girls and one for the boys. The teachers and the principal also have a room in the dormitories. The school building has four classes, a cafeteria and a chilling space where we can meet with our friends. In the campus we can also find a gym, a basketball court, a campfire area and kilomters of woods. Funfact, the first thing they warned me about when I arrived was to be careful going around the campus alone at night because bears could have been around.

Last year Thanksgiving was celebrated on November, 24. A friend of mine hosted me for a week at her house so that I could actually live the Thanksgiving experince. We had lunch at her aunt's house: the food was so different! Of course there was the big turkey on the table, but next to it there also was a plate of sweet potatoes with marshmallows, mashed potatoes, an american focaccia and more and more food.

The first four months of my exchange year I joined the cheer team of my school. We used to cheer for the basketball team. We created our own slogans and we used to train almost two hours for five days a week

The people

The people I met there are the best part of my experience, because more than friends I found a family. I started making friends immediately; it was really easy even because I was one of the first exchange students to arrive.
