Objective: To understand and guide a country's national and international policy based on knowledge of the country and its history. In this way, geopolitics is useful for predicting how states will behave politically, taking into account their particularities and geographical variants. (Martin, 2023).

Definition 01

Geopolitics is the discipline that studies how a state or other entity arranges space and what impact it has from a political point of view. (Martin, 2023).

Definition 02

It is that development that is capable of satisfying current needs without compromising the resources and possibilities of future generations. Instinctively, a sustainable activity is one that can be conserved. (School of Industrial Organization, 2023)

Definition 03

The World Health Organization defines social determinants of health (SDH) as "the circumstances in which people are born, grow, work, live and age, including the broader set of forces and systems that influence the conditions of everyday life. These forces and systems include economic policies and systems, development programs, social norms and policies, and political systems (PAHO/WHO | Pan American Health Organization, n.d.).

Characteristics of sustainable development.

The characteristics that a development must have in order to be considered sustainable are as follows: - Promotes regional self-sufficiency - Recognizes the importance of nature for human well-being. - Ensures that economic activity improves the quality of life for all, not just a select few. - Uses resources efficiently. - Promotes maximum recycling and reuse. - Seeks ways for economic activity to maintain or improve the environmental system. - Relies on the development and implementation of clean technologies. - Restores damaged ecosystems. (What Is Sustainable Development?, 2013)
