What is Myth? If you describe a belief or explanation as a myth, you mean that many people believe it but it is actually untrue. An example of a contemporary myth is astrology.
What is Logos? Philosophy Reason or the rational principle expressed in words and things, argument, or justification; esp personified as the source of order in the universe.
What is the passage from myth to logos? Myth passes into logos when it is reasoned. When someone questions it until it unravels if it is indeed a myth, whereas something true would ring more true the more it was questioned. Astrology is a pupular belief because it is based on vague predictions and generic assumptions that can, on occasion, happen to be correct, but it is ultimately purely a coincidence, as has been demonstrated in research papers. I also believe it serves the function of God in some people's lives. I believe they feel a need to be part of something greater than themselves, and need divine guidance, but some do not want the responsibility and obligations of being devoted to one's religion, so astrology seems like the more convenient choice. However, if it were true, it would always be right. People's character would be different solely based on their zodiac sign, and there would be no exceptions. That is not the case. If you pull at its strings, it unravels, therefore it is a myth.
