A political map shows legal, jurisdictional, political, or administrative boundaries. These can be national country borders or sub-national lines such as counties, states, provinces, cities, or wards.
A physical map is one which shows the physical features of a place or country, like rivers, mountains, forests and lakes.

MAP KEY

A map key is a little box of information found at the bottom of a map. It contains an explanation of what the different lines and symbols on the map mean, as well as a scale for you to work out distance.

A compas rose

A compass rose is a symbol on a map that shows the cardinal directions. The cardinal directions are the main compass points—north, south, east, and west.

Regions and States

The U.S. is a country of 50 states covering a vast swath of North America, with Alaska in the northwest and Hawaii extending the nation’s presence into the Pacific Ocean.

With the map that the teacher will give you, you will create five settlements. Each settlement will be made up of different forts. Be careful! You can only create 5 settlements, so distribute the forts well
Next
When each student has created their settlements you will work in pairs. The game consists of the following: with a turn each, the students will have to name a state. - If the state named by your opponent coincides with one of the states where you have built a fort, you must shout "touched" and mark it with a red X. - If it is incorrect, you will shout "water" and you will not mark anything.

Touched!
Next
When one of the players has touched ALL the forts in a settlement, the other player/partner must say that their settlement has been destroyed. The player who destroys ALL 19 forts first wins!
I win!
You destroyed my final settlemnt.
