Inspired by Industry offers a unique insight into how design and manufacturing companies work through problems. They will share insights, approaches and possible toolkits to use in your classroom, working as the experts in the field do!

All schools can access all contexts and associated videos in the Inspired buy Industry suite (and there is even more to come!) D&T Association members will have free access to an increasing amount of additional materials to help deliver the units.

By exploring some of the real-life work that industries in the UK (and overseas) do, the aim is that students will become curious and excited about the work and sectors show. With more companies and sectors to follow, we shall also share routes into industry through a variety of avenues to empower your students.

These have been designed to allow you to deliver key stage 3 D&T through an alternative approach. With focused tasks, investigative and evaluative activities alongside a design & make context they will allow for concepts, skills and technical knowledge to be delivered to your students.

To help support students at Key Stage 4 and beyond, the contexts allow students to explore what is meant by design-thinking, using a consistent approach, all colour-coded for ease of use. The flexibility of the approach means that students can explore sectors and next-steps as they require.
