Impressionism is a style of painting that began in France in 1860s and became most popular in the 1870s and 1870s. Leading figures of the movement include Claude Monte, Camille Pissaro, Pierre-Auguste Renoir and Edgar Dergas. Impressionist painters did not paint from their imagination, literatur or history. Instead, They piented what they saw around them: towns and landscapes where they lived and scenes of everyday life, like people doing the washing and ironing, ballet dancers warming up and customers being served in a restaurant.
