Past Continuous
The Past Continuous tense refers to a continuing action or state that was happening at some point in the past.
Structures
Subject + was/were + verb-ing + complement
Subject + wasn't/weren't + verb-ing + complement
Was/Were + subject + verb-ing + complement?
Let's complete the statements using past continuous sentences.
Mixed Past tenses:
The past continuous and the past simple help us to show how two past actions or situations are connected. When we use these two tenses together can show us 2 different situations;

The past simple action happened in the middle of the past continuous action, while it was in progress.
While I was studying, I suddenly felt sleepy.
To show an action interrupting another action.
I broke my leg when I was skiing.
