Community of Practice: Literacy Assessment and Data Practices
These monthly opt-in sessions are hosted virtually for up to 30 school leaders. The focus of these sessions is on how to build a robust system of assessment and data collection at your school so that you and your teachers have a comprehensive view of what students need and instructional next steps. You should attend if: You are ready to think about using data to improve your literacy programming so that your student achievement scores can soar!

Guided Literacy Data Analysis
These premium sessions are only awarded to select schools by application only. Using your student achievement scores from literacy assessments, Teaching Lab staff will guide your leadership team through a literacy data analysis protocol that helps identify schoolwide patterns and next steps for success. Basic Service: These monthly in-person sessions occur during School Leader Institutes. They provide a broad understanding of the role of school leaders and teachers in successful literacy development.
TOPICS INCLUDE:
- Impactful Literacy-based Walkthroughs (what am I looking for? What do I do with the data I collect?)
- Planning for and Collecting "Medium" Literacy Data (What data is the most helpful to collect? )
- Literacy Data Analysis (What do we do with all this literacy data?)
Guided Literacy Walkthroughs
These premium sessions are only awarded to select schools by application only. Teaching Lab staff will plan, attend, and guide your leadership team through a literacy-focused walkthrough, including a hosted debrief that outlines next steps for schoolwide improvement in literacy.
Community of Practice: Literacy Look Fors
These monthly opt-in sessions are hosted virtually for up to 30 school leaders. The focus includes understanding what high-quality daily literacy instruction looks like and how to identify it in the classrooms through literacy-based walkthroughs. You should attend if: You want to know more about what literacy should look like, and you are ready to to conduct powerful literacy-based walkthroughs!
