Storytime at waverly hills
This was a learning experience students will remember for the rest of their lives.
Students learned history about where they live. In this case, how patients with tuberculosis were treated in the first half of the 20th century.
The students' writing was shared with a global online audience via a website dedicated to the project..
Students had voice and choice. For example, some students wrote stories in Spanish.
The project was driven by student inquiry, as a student suggested we go on a field trip to Waverly Hills, which is reportedly haunted. The students had fun and were engaged throughout the project.
