GPA Info

Your grades are added together over your HS career and divided by the number of credits you have taken. Colleges generally like to see at least a 3.0 GPA. For competitive colleges, a 3.5-4.0 is recommended.

An A is worth 4 points, a B is worth 3, a C is worth 2, a D is worth 1, and an F is worth 0.

GPA stands for grade point average and it is a calculation of all of your earned course grades over your high school career. *Every grade you receive is calculated into a GPA.*

Course Suggestions
  • Strongly recommend taking a Math course all 4 years. Many colleges want to see Algebra, Geometry, Algebra 2, and then a 4th Math
  • Strongly recommend taking 4 Science classes. Many colleges like to see Biology, Chemistry, and then 2 additional Science courses
  • Colleges generally like to see 2 years of the same foreign language
  • Choose electives that help you explore your interests and discover what field you may want as a major in college
