What is EPQ?

Extended Project Qualification

In short, this is a chance to follow a course of study that you are truly interested in. The project must be something you will not encounter on your A level. This may relate to a future profession, a module of study, a skill, a trend or a technique. This may be a passion project or a professional project- the choice is entirely yours! The project is equivalent to an AS level, and is favourably recognised by universities and employers.

  • You control the project
  • You manage the process
  • You build a portfolio of skills
  • You gain a qualification

Extended Project

What skills will you develop?

Extended Project offers something that your A Level choices doesn´t. It is a way to engage in something specific of personal or professional interest for your future. You have free choice, independence and most of all, a personal investment. Perhaps you want to study something at University or maybe you have a specific career in mind, this project is a chance to learn more about your options.

  • Research skills
  • Project management skills
  • Writing, investigative, field study, performance or production skills, as appropriate
  • Presentation skills.
