HAVE/HAS + PAST PARTICIPLE

  • Experiences without saying exact time when it happened.
“I’ve been to China”
  • Recent events with a result in the present.
“They’ve painted the walls.” (Still wet)
  • Already, just, yet:
“They haven't finished yet.”
  • Superlative and "the first/second/last time":
"It's the best meal I've ever had"
  • How long / for, since (with STATIVE VERBS):
"How long have you known Maria?" "I've known Maria for 10 years"

  • Recent events with a result in the present (focus on duration):
