Verb + to - infinitive:
infinitive verbs patterns
The infinitive is the base form of a verb and can be used with or without the particle "to."
After it+ be + adjective (+noun/pronoun)

After would and should+ like/love/hate/prefer
After expressions with quantifiers: enough, too, too much, a lot.

Verb + GERUND (-ING)
gerund. use- ing verb
The gerund is the -ing form of a verb and is used to form progressive tenses and as a noun in a sentence.
After spend/waste + time/money/etc
As the subject of a sentence
After a preposition
He spends a lot of time playing with his kids. Don't waste your money buying in that store.
Cheating is not allowe.Eating candy is bad for your teeth.
I'm tired of waiting for you. He is very good at painting.
After hear, listen, notice, see, watch, to express a long/incomplete action or action in progress
After certain verbs
I saw them kissing in the park.I heard them arguing. (=The actions were long/in progress)
