what to do
first aid techniques
- sterile gauze or clean cloth
- bandage
¿HOW TO PREVENT?
HEMORRHAGE
Remove any type of clothing or dirt on the wound.
Hold the person still.
- If you are waiting for help to arrive, try not to move the injured person. If blood seeps through the bandage, place more gauze or drapes over it. Then continue to apply firm pressure to the area. If possible, place the person on a rug or blanket to prevent them from losing body heat.
- Remove any obvious dirt from the wound, but don't try to clean it. Do not remove objects that are large or deeply embedded, and do not explore the wound.
Stop the bleeding.
¡PREVENTION!
- Cover the wound with a sterile gauze or clean cloth. Press firmly with the palm of your hand until the bleeding stops. However, do not apply pressure to an eye injury or an embedded object. Do not apply pressure to a head wound if you suspect a skull fracture.
- If the bleeding does not call the emergency service because you can lose a lot of blood and that damages the organs
