Step 1: Use the Charging Cord in the Library Troubleshooting Station

Use one of the two charging cords next to the troubleshooting computer in the library. Leave your Chromebook plugged in for 5 minutes. Then try to turn on your Chromebook.

Step 1: Try to PowerWash your Chromebook.

Powerwashing fixes many Chromebook problems including lock down browser problems. Try this:

  • Sign out of your Chromebook.
  • Press and hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift + r.
  • Select Restart.
  • In the box that appears, select Powerwash.
  • Continue.
  • Wifi: Frisco ISD Password: guidance4thefuture
  • Follow the steps that appear and sign in with your Google Account.
  • Let it enroll in the FISD managed area.
  • Sign in.

Step 1: Try your ID and Birthdate. If anyone reset for you already, it might be reset to this.

Step 2: Try to Reset Your Password Yourself

Log in to the student portal, click your name at the top right and select "change password". Follow the instructions to change your password.

These passwords change:

  • FISD computer login
  • Google Account (Drive, Gmail, YouTube, etc)
  • Canvas
  • Student Portal
  • MackinVIA
  • Clever (textbooks, Discovery Education, etc.)
  • HAC (Home Access Center)

If you lost your Chromebook or it was stolen or damaged:

Fill out a Device Repair ticket in Incident IQ using the link or the QR code below. The tech specialist will be in touch with you about your next steps.

Fill out a Device Repair ticket in Incident IQ using the link or the QR code above. The tech specialist will be in touch with you about your next steps. In your description be sure to explain exactly what's going on with your charger.

Initial Chromebook Requests

Step ONE: Make sure your guardian pays the $20 Chromebook Insurance Fee

Pay the fee in Online School Fees (www.onlineschoolfees.com). If you don't see the fee in online school fees, email your tech specialist and ask for it to be added. Your tech specialist's email address should be on a poster nearby. For more information, visit Frisco ISD 1:1 Technology Program.

Step TWO: Complete the 1forAll Canvas Course

Log into Canvas and look at your list of courses. Complete the course.

Once the first step is complete, you will be contacted to pick up your Chromebook and told where to get it. Be sure to complete the Canvas course before the deadline to continue using your Chromebook.
