Share Management Tool Web (SMT)

SMT Tool is a web-based tool used to create a new file share, share drive or DID, request rights for DIDs or check owners of the DIDs and owners of the DIDs can manage those requests.

SMT

DID shares, file servers, share drives are common shares that users can upload, share different files between them. Owners can grant and remove rights. E.g. of DIDs : DID94035, DID01234, DIDU0187

Rights for read or modify on different DIDs can be requested by the user and given from SMT by the owner.

DID owners can be checked on All Shares and Folders from SMT, select the DID folder and clic on the bar to dropdown details

SharePoint is a server-based Document Management System and Collaboration Tool Users can create, upload, download, edit documents on it. The standard size per SharePoint Online Site is 200GB.

The owner of the SharePoint can make a request in SSP7 to increase the quota.

• Permissions is the means to give people access to a SharePoint.

• Permissions can be assigned on different levels of a site, in groups or individually and each permission has a permission level attached that defines what a user or group can do with the permission.

• Permissions can usually only be given or removed by the owners of a SharePoint site.

• lf you setup permissions on site level in a brand-new site than all libraries, folders, files and lists will inherit the permission on site level

• If there are files or libraries which need specific permissions to additional or fewer people, you need to break the inheritance and you must maintain each of these objects individually.
