Characteristics:

• The poem treats universal themes, such as good and evil /life or death.

Epic

Description:

It is a long narrative poem that celebrates hero's deeds. Epic tales survived for many centuries as oral traditions before they were finally written down. Many epics are based in historical facts so poets (scorts or bards) could provide: Entertaiment and education for the audience.
