Fountain Walkthrough: Adding Stages via the Workflow Editor
This clickable walkthrough will take you through the process of adding new stages to an Opening's hiring workflow.

To access the Workflow Editor, you can either create a new Opening which will the route you to the Workflow Editor at the end of the Opening creation process. You can also click Edit Workflow from the Openings page or under settings within the Opening's Applicant Table.
To add a new stage, click the Add Stage button.

We now have the option to create a new stage from scratch or clone an existing stage from another Opening's workflow.
Let's first try the new stage option. Don't worry, we'll show you how to clone an existing stage later. Click Create New Stage.

In this next pop-up, we will decide what type of stage we want to add to the workflow and the placement of that stage compared to the other stages that already exist in the workflow.
We recommend first choosing the stage type. Click the dropdown to see the stage type options.

As you can see, there are a number of stage types you can add. If you don't see the stage type you're looking for, contact your Implementation Manager, CSM, or the Fountain Support Team for assistance.
Let's add a Data Collection stage. Click the Data Collection stage option.

I went ahead and typed a Title for the stage.
Now we need to decide the placement of the stage in the workflow. Click the dropdown to see our options.

We can add the stage at the begining of the workflow or after another existing stage. Because this is a workflow we are creating from scratch, we don't have a lot of options yet.
Let's add the Data Collection stage to the top of the workflow. Click At the top of the workflow in the dropdown.

Click Add Stage to add the Data Collection stage.

Great! Our Application Questions Data Collection stage is now visible on the left. We can also see the information for that stage on the right.

At the top of the stage details section, you can change settings related to Fountain AI, decide whether the applicant will see the stage in their Applicant Portal, or whether they will automatically move to the next stage after completing the stage.

Further down in the stage details, you can set up Idle Move Rules to automatically move an idle applicant out of the stage after a specified period of time. You can also adjust the Initial Stage Landing message that is sent once the applicant lands on the stage.

At the bottom of the stage landing details, you can add Follow-Up Messages to remind your applicants to take action in the stage.

Now let's go back add a stage with the Clone Existing Stage option.
Click Clone Exisitng Stage.

We first need to select the Opening that has the stage we want to clone from.
Click Sacramento, CA - Full Time 1st Shift Cleaner.

Now we need to select the Stage we want to clone. Click the Stage dropown.

Let's clone the Recruiter Interview stage. Click this in the dropdown options.

You will also have the option to change the title of the stage. The title will autopopulate based on the Opening it is being cloned from but you can click on the field to change it if you desire.
The Recruiter Interview title is fine and does not need to be changed so let's scroll down to decide the placement of the cloned stage.

We want this stage after the Application Questions. Click the Stage Placement dropdown.

Click Application Questions.

Great! The only thing left to do is click Clone stage.

We see that the stage was successfully cloned at the top of the Workflow Editor. The next stage is on the left after Application Questions and the details of that stage are found in the right section.
