THINKING OUT OF THE BOX!

How we word things in our communication is almost equally important as our body language. Consider the use of the word “and” and “but.” "But" implies something won’t work, while “and” allows other options to be considered.

Work in pairs or small groups and discuss the questions attached to this slide. DON'T USE THE WORD "BUT".

oral task 1 - 10%

In groups activity, 4-3 members each. Read the roles, analyses the situation, and elaborate a role-play to present the best manner to approach customer assistance.

One of the major factors of communication is how we receive messages. This receipt of messages can come from a variety of things such as our perception and our upbringing or state of mind at that given point in time. Regard the activity, despite a fixed pattern, we still see things in different ways. The differences you see with something so simple illustrates how different perceptions can occur in bigger things, such as work, responsibilities, and relationships.
