Possessive s' Whose...?

Start

1. He's Brad Pitt's brother 2. it's my parents' car 3. Whose is this bag ?

2. With regular plural nouns we put the ' after the s. It's my parents' car

3. With irregular plural nouns we use 's The children's room Men's clothes

1. We use a person + s' to talk about family and possessions. He's Brad Pitt's brother

Be careful with 's. It can be two things: 1) Maria's mother - 's = Mother of Maria 2) Maria's Spanish = Maria is Spanish

Whose

Whose/ Who'sWho's = who is (Who's that girl ? She's my sister) Whose = of who (Whose is this bag? It's Jack's) BUT: Who's and Whose are pronounced the same

2. We don't usually use a thing + 's The end of the class NOT: The class's end

1. We use Whose ...? to ask about possessions Whose is this bag? it's Maria's bag
