Appropriate accommodations are established and faculty are notifed by email with the Faculty Accommodation Memo
Contact EAS and student completes an Accommodation Application
What does support look like?
Provide Resources
Confidential
EAS will provide training for students to use appropriate assistive technology and other accommodations.
The student’s registration with Educational Access Services, any student-shared disability details, and the fact that they receive accommodations is kept confidential.
- A resource to applicable students that are struggling
- Protection for specifics of disability
- Protection for integrity of course
- Different from high school supports and unique to individual situations
Fundamental Alterations
Proctored Exams
Students may request a proctored test in the EAS office to receive accommodations that cannot otherwise be received in the classroom.
An accommodation that fundamentally alters the nature of a course or the program curriculum may be considered unreasonable.
Service Animals: is a dog or miniature horse individually trained to do work or perform specific tasks for the benefit of an individual with a disability.
Questions you can ask:
- Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability?
- What work or task has the dog been trained to perform?
