By: Ilianys González and Lourdes Lucero

Victoria Amunga, wrote in September 14, 2022, article titled "Kenyan-Made Device Helps Save Premature Babies Born Amid Ukraine War," published in VOA News.

Let's take a look at the news

MAIN IDEA

A device made in Kenya has been helping to save premature babies born amid the war in Ukraine. Hospitals and clinics have been repeatedly bombed during the war, causing power outages and threatening the lives of newborns who require medical care. The device, known as a bubble continuous positive eirway pressure (CPAP) machine, helps keep a baby's eirway open and allows them to breathe more easily.

This news caught my attention because they talked about the creation of a device that represents an advance in medicine and that in the middle of the war the doctors and the people decided to watch over the well-being of people in hospitals, but especially babies who are born prematurely, since they use this device that helps the patient's respiratory system.

I was very interested in this news because a simple device can save the lives of premature babies. This device is like a light of hope for the life of the baby and the mother.

"Preemies are little warriors who come before life."
