Yesterday can be used at the beginning or at the end of a sentence. It can be combined with other adverbials: morning, afternoon, and evening. 1. Sarah walked to work yesterday. 2. Yesterday, Sarah walked to work. PD: If you place "yesterday" at the beginning of the sentence, a comma is needed. 3. Yesterday morning, I woke up late. 4. She didn't go to school yesterday afternoon.
