The so-called "Big Festival" of San Cristóbal de Las Casas is the "Spring and Peace Fair", which is celebrated for a week, the following Easter, in which various activities are carried out: artistic shows, gastronomic samples, bullfights, cultural, sports, children's activities, mechanical games, and traditional dances, as well as a majestic parade of the Queen-elect of the Fair.

The means of public transport are: taxis, minibuses and urban vans, these are colloquially called combis or colectivos. The most comfortable way to get around San Cristóbal de las Casas is by taxi. There is usually no problem finding taxis at any time of the day or night, much less if you move through the center of the city. The price of these is 40 pesos, going to 45 if it is later than 11:00 p.m. or if the trip goes beyond the peripheral of the city, which in these cases increases the price. Another common way to move around the city is by bus or "combis", which are vans adapted for the transport of people. There are many routes through the city, but all of them leave from the central market of the city to different places in the city. It is easy to recognize where each one goes, since it clearly indicates it on the front of it. The price of the "combis" is 8 pesos, and the hours are usually from 6:00 in the morning to 20:00 at night. The regularity with which these pass is about 10 minutes, being a little longer on Sundays, since there are fewer "combis" circulating.
