CONQUERING YOUR FEARS
UTI
Fear to loneliness
Acknowledge your feelings of loneliness
The first step in managing loneliness is to realize what you are feeling and the impact it has on your life. Try talking to a counselor or therapist.
Learn when to enter or exit the virtual world
Social media sometimes makes people feel uncomfortable, ignored, and alone. Bottom Line: If being in the virtual world makes you feel more isolated than connected, that's a sign you need to log off.
Find a way to volunteer to feel less alone
There are many ways to contribute as a volunteer. Giving your time and energy, working with others for a good cause, can help you fight loneliness effectively. Volunteering has been shown to reduce stress and feelings of depression and help you find new friends and connect with others and generally be happier.
Join a group or club to overcome loneliness with personal connections
Depending on where you live, you may have access to various types of groups and clubs, usually created out of common interests and hobbies. You can find many of these types of groups on the Internet or in your community.
Practice self care
In addition to trying to connect with others, don't ignore the potential of exercise, healthy food, good sleep, sunlight, and even meditation to combat loneliness.
Live more
When possible, look to volunteer in a few activities in your neighborhood or community. In this way you can make friends and create social ties with other people close to you. Chances are high you'll find them at the grocery store, church or synagogue, at a local cafe or restaurant, giving you more opportunities for social interaction and feeling less alone.
