Phenomena Do-Do-Do-Do
Did you know ants have enemies, too?
Attack of the Killer Fungi
Did you know ants have enemies, too?
You know how insects like ants have enemies too? Well, there's a special fungus called cordyceps that's like a sneaky trickster. It makes tiny spores that insects accidentally eat. Once the spores are inside the insect, the fungus takes control, like a puppet master. The insect starts acting weirdly and climbs up high, hanging on tight to a branch with its mouth. Then, something really strange happens! A new part of the fungus grows out of the insect's head, and it spreads more spores to infect other insects. The crazy part is that there are different types of cordyceps, and each one likes to pick on a specific insect. It's like a never-ending story of nature's tricks!
