Rising the voice

On Monday, June 24th; a group of patients with spinal cord injuries blocked the entrance to the Mexico City airport manifesting with the purpose of requesting the government to implement in health centers the treatment for the cell treatment NC1. Protesters blocked for around five hours. In Mexico city there is a debate about if these manifestations are right or wrong as a lot of people results affected by this protest. While at the same time is people just trying to make their voice being heard.

The earth is dying and we are just watching

On July 2023, 2 activists got inside the Hamburg and Düsseldorf airpot and glued themselves to the runaway. They were protesting that the germany government hasn't implenmented an strategy to reduce airplanes emissions. This is an example of a group of people that i rising their voice and trying to be heard, however this was classified as a criminal act and there is a debate about if this type of protests are effective. In my personal opinion relating it with mediation this is not a very acertive way of protesting as you are affecting more than you are rising your voice in some way.

Separated Worlds

Aesthetic also means accesible

According to Inegi data from 2023, more than 700 thousand persons live with a disability in Mexico City, However, buildings keep being constructed with an unaccessible design, causing struggles for people to move autonomously around the city. Within the 51 thousand squares in the city, less than 28 thousand doesn't have ramps.

Caged dreams

This photograph was taken in 2018 during Trump's government's 0 tolerance migration policy. What we can see in the photo is a migration detention center in Texas, called Ursula, commonly known as "the Kennel". A place where detained migrants were taken and locked in different cages, separating them from their kids. Sometimes, these kids were taken to another detention center, taking them far from their parents.

Where is our attention?

On June 13th, an overcrowded boat full of migrants was crossing the Mediterranean Sea with Italy as destination. On this same date, an airplane operated by Frontex; the European Union border agency, sighted the boat for the first team, immediately reporting it to the Greek and Italian coast guard. Frontex offered aerial support to Greek authorities, but never received an answer and was asked to send help to another rescue. Hours later, a ship of the Greek coast guard made contact offering them help, which was refused by the boat passengers. Next day June 14th the boat was reported as capsized and sunk. It was calculated that this boat had between 400 and 750 migrants. On June 28th, Greek authorities confirmed 104 survivors, 80 bodies and around 500 persons missing. This tragedy caused controversy as at the same time of this event, the rescue of the titan submarine was in process and no one knew about this unfortunate event; showing the lack of recognition of migrants in a global scale.
