Cedar Creek vision is to see people healthy and content by using their passion and experience to support individuals, families, and the community.

Psychiatric assessments and medication management with a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Treatment Barriers

Rural communities face many barriers to care.

Local: Public Transport

Geographically spaced out region often resulting in significant commutes to reach services.

State: Funding

In 2017 the Montana legislature cut $200 million in state and matching federal dollars from the state public health budget.

Federal: Medicaid

The end of COVID provisions have significantly cut the amount of people eligible for Medicaid and financial capacity to afford services.

Policy Challenges

Agency Advocacy

Actively collecting data, actively applying evidence-based modalities, client transportation, documenting shortages, reporting needs, collaborating with local organizations and agencies, writing policy officials.

Personal Contributions

Practice evaluations, evidence-based intervention, transportation policies and provisions, mandatory treatment planning conducted weekly, sliding fee scales, correspondence with legislative officials, and offering multiple services in one location.
