Why?
What planning do you do in your department to help you get there?
The top-level strategies and goals in your organisation.
How your department aligns with these strategies.
Please submit all three parts of your information pack via Smart Assessor alongside some reflections on the module and your completed work. You are welcome to submit your evidence in any format that is appropriate: written, photographic, audio or video.

Imagine that you have someone new joining your team. How can you help them understand their role within the team and how their contribution counts? Put together an information pack that includes the following...

Researching your organisation's strategy will help you understand your contribution and your part in helping your business succeed. It will also help you articulate this to others, as a shared sense of purpose is vital to creating a high-performing team. Understanding your strategy will highlight why you do certain things in your department and may also highlight some things that do not allow you to align with your organisation's strategy. You may also discover opportunities to plan more effectively, with more vision and clarity.

Why?

If you're still in doubt...

Last but not least, if you are still in doubt, then ask for help! It’s not in my interest to have work from my learners returned as plagiarised, so I am more than happy to help you. However, the responsibility not to plagiarise is with you.

  • What do you do in your department that helps your organisation achieve its goals?
  • Refer back to the specific metrics you've already included.
How your department aligns with these strategies.
The top-level strategies and goals in your organisation.
  • What are the key targets and objectives?
  • What are the vision, mission and values?
  • Where is the business going? What will it look like in 2 or 5, or 10 years if the strategy is achieved?
  • What are the critical success criteria? What are the metrics and KPIs? Consider financial metrics, customer metrics, employee metrics and anything else relevant.
  • Operational plans: Consider 90-day plans, forecasts, training plans, staffing plans, succession plans, seasonal or situational plans (Christmas or Summer plans, for example) or procurement or purchasing plans.
  • Tactical plans: Consider rotas, cleaning schedules, service plans, arrivals lists, or handovers.
  • Contingency plans: What do you do if something goes wrong? What if you have staff absences, run out of stock, something breaks, or another problem?
What planning do you do in your department to help you get there?

Give specific examples of the following types of planning and include real examples.
