Outcomes

  • Allowed for exposure at the national and global level through participation in the Global Road Safety Film Festival by submitting a short film on road safety.
  • Created multi-organisational youth-led focal points on road safety, sustainable mobility, and Vision Zero with the Crown Prince Foundation and national universities
  • Facilitated meaningful youth engagement in the implementation and activities of the project where over 25 young people were actively involved.

Outcomes

  • Equipped a cohort of young in-school leaders with enhanced road safety knowledge, transforming them into Road Safety Champions within their schools and communities.
  • Elevated the level of interest among parents and teachers to engage in road safety education, fostering their active involvement in project implementation.
  • Promoted the practice of self-reporting on reduced speed among boda boda riders in school zones and busy city centres, subsequently extending its implementation to other school zones beyond the initial project areas.
  • Bolstered the commitment of local decision-makers in Uganda to mitigate road traffic injuries around school zones.

Expected Outcomes

  • Launched a dashboard of Lima’s cycling infrastructure to provide evidence-based and updated information to local authorities.
  • One District Government in Lima committed to implementing interconnectivity or segregation bike lines as a result of the advocacy efforts made by young advocates at a local level.
  • Implemented adequate bicycle parking spots in the city of Lima with the support of local businesses.

Outcomes

  • Stablished connections between youth and youth leaders from various civil society organisations who identified gaps that prevent their meaningful involvement in shaping the national road safety policy.
  • Facilitated intergenerational dialogue in Abuja, Nigeria, that promoted meaningful youthful involvement in road safety decision–making.
  • Local community awared of the impact of road traffic laws on young people and the need for meaningful youth involvement in road safety.
