Rationale
I think the most effective professional development model effective for my workplace is the Individual Professional Learning goal. At my school site, everyone holds different years of experience and has their subject areas of strength and need. For example, I am in my first year of teaching and need support to create effective and consistent small groups. I also need resources and guidance in effective writing strategies to include them in my curriculum planning. It would not be beneficial for a veteran teacher to attend professional development in those areas. Veteran teachers at my school site are not invested in some professional development offered by the district because they have been irrelevant to their interests nor applicable to them. Individual Professional Learning will allow all teachers to reflect and identify areas of need and gain skillsets relevant to their specific needs. Teachers are all lifelong learners, and it requires them to reflect on their practices to find areas of improvement. This approach will keep all teachers engaged in providing quality education through support and guidance. This approach can gain more teachers' buy-in because it is personalized and can select from PDs that can help teachers reach their professional goals. This can provide individuals with mentors and coaches to provide feedback, collaboration, and peer observation to create an action plan for improving instruction. Being an educator requires constant reflection and maintaining a growth mindset. It is crucial not to settle with our teaching approaches and seek individualized professional development that translates into the classroom.

Site budget can prevent the necessary follow-up or selecting another PD needed based of need (Fogarty & Pete, 2017).

Advantage: Teachers are given opportunities to identify and select PD and given a voice over the content they'd like to learn (Francis, 2021). Insufficient time or consistency spent on coach or mentor observations to get to the root cause of support.
