STEP 1: Understand the Assignment and Set a Schedule

-Discuss assignment details in group (professor-peers). -Determine the length of the paper, the citation style, the acceptable sources, the due dates, and the formatting criteria. -Make a schedule according to the due dates and task accomplishment.

STEP 2: FINDING A TOPIC AND QUESTION

-Select a specific topic or question to investigate. -Look for your professor’s approval. -Select a topic of social interest -The question should be answered throughout your paper, which may serve as your thesis statement.

Step 3: Begin Research

-Start researching on the selected topic and question. -For complete information, consult a variety of sources (the Internet, books, journals, and interviews). -Keep a record of all information acquired, including bibliographical details.

STEP 4: Construct an Outline

-Using an outline, organize the research material. -To construct an outline structure, match information. -Include an introduction, primary headings, supporting details, and a conclusion, make sure they contain the same amount of information.

STEP 5: WRITE A DRAFT

-Begin writing the first draft, integrating your own voice and conclusions. -Cite sources used. -Keep the information organized. -Solicit comments from peers or instructors, proofread the draft.

STEP 6: WRITE A FINAL DRAFT

-Revise initial drafts to elaborate a final version. -Make sure you correct the errors before you hand in your paper. -Include a cover page with course information, the title of your paper, and your name. Footnotes, page numbers, citations. -Include a works referenced page that lists all sources that were used.
